The holidays just aren’t the same without those classic desserts like apple pie and pumpkin pie. However, when you’re spending the holidays at the campground you may not want to go through the hassle of baking a full pie for each of your favorites. That’s why we’ve gather these simple Thanksgiving camping recipes for you. So load up your Keystone Hideout fifth wheel from Momot Trailer Sales, grab a few grocery items, and head to the campground!
Apple Pie Pastries
Ingredients: 1 can apple pie filling, 1 package of puff pastry, 1 egg, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 2 tsp sugar
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350. Roll out the puff pastry dough and cut into 3″ x 5″ sections. Spoon 1 Tbsp apple pie filling into the center of half of the puff pastries and cover with the second half of the puff pastries. Use a fork to seal the edges together and pierce the pastries several times each. Whip the egg and brush each pastry lightly, then sprinkle with the combined sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place pastries on a baking sheet 1″ apart and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve with a dollop of vanilla ice cream to complete the apple pie experience!
Mini Pumpkin Pies
Ingredients: 1 package of refrigerated pie crust, 1 15 oz can pumpkin puree, 1 14 oz can sweeten condensed milk, 2 eggs,1 tbsp pumpkin pie seasoning, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1 package of Cool Whip, 1 muffin tin
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 375. Roll out the pie crust and cut into 3-3 1/2″ rounds, just big enough to fit into the muffin tin without spilling out the top. Spray your muffin tin and press the dough into the tin to form mini pie cups. Combine the pumpkin, milk, eggs, seasoning, and vanilla. Pour filling into the cups until just below the brim. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is firm.
Serve with a spoon of whipped cream on top.
