Make your RV your own!

One of the biggest reasons we upgrade from tent camping into an RV is the convenience and ease of having all the creature comforts at an arms length. Bringing along your amenities makes a world of difference in both short and long distance travel. Whether you are exploring all over the Adirondacks, or parked seasonally at our favorite place, Blue Haven Campground, it only makes sense that you’d want to make your space feel like a cozy home away from home. Here’s some ideas for making your RV your own!

  • Customize your space with accessories: Add small area rugs in open locations to make your space feel a little more like home. This has the added benefit of reducing tracking of all the dirt & nature that comes along with living in the Adirondacks. Bring along some matching throw blankets to place on your couch or chairs for those cool fall nights. Invest in matching throw pillows to tie it all together.

  • Hang Decorations: wall decorations to match your rugs, blankets, & pillows will greatly add to the residential feel in your RV. Just make sure you hang them with wallpaper friendly Command strips or something of the like, rather than putting holes in your RVs inside walls.

  • Replace Valences with Curtains: maybe your valences do not match the color scheme you’ve chosen for your pillows, rugs, and blankets. Easy fix! Replace those valences with the same style curtain rods you would use in your home, and add whatever matching curtains you prefer!

  • Magnets & Pictures: add magnets from you travels to your fridge/other magnetic surfaces in your camper. Frame photos taken on your adventures to add a personal touch to your space.
  • Customize your storage: as you go on more and more trips with your new RV, you’ll get accustomed to what items/appliances you use and don’t use. If you are finding that you don’t frequently use your microwave, it is fairly simple to remove from it’s cupboard (and hang on to in the event that you trade your RV in down the road). You can then utilize this area as an open storage space or even a shelf for more décor!

  • Cheer up your kitchen: if your RV doesn’t already have a backsplash in the kitchen, adding one can really bring a nice, homey touch to the space. It is best to use the peel-and-stick type tile backsplash, that way it can be removed if desired.
